Harder than I imagined

so, Bill and I knew that telling the kids we had to bring Seeka back the the breeder would be hard....but it was SO much harder than we thought

Bill explained to them that she bit papa and b.c of that, along with her past aggressive behavior, we couldn't keep her; that she is a really big dog and could hurt someone really bad if we kept her.

Ella and Tate started crying.
then bawling.
then sobbing.

I was a bit taken back by their response. Especially Ella....I think we underestimated how much she had taken to her.

Bill was going to take her back alone, but the kids all insisted on going with, so we agreed. We all said our good byes to her...except Trigg who had no idea what was going on. In fact, when we left the house he was SO excited that Seeka was coming with us!! poor boy...didn't realize what was coming....

The 3 older kids sobbed the entire way there. Bill and I didn't hold up so good either.

How had we all fallen in love with this dog so fast!!

When we got the breeder she asked if we would like to show the kids a puppy so they know what we have to look forward to in the next few months. They LOVED the puppy. It did seem to be a bit therapeutic for a few minutes.

But once we got in the van to leave, and Seeka stayed behind....thats when Trigg figured it out...and he bawled and bawled and cried for "his seeka" to come with us.

Tucker said "this is the badest night of my life"
Ella said to seeka (while crying like crazy) as we were arriving at the breeders "Seeka, its time for you to go home....OUR home was suppose to be your home but it didn't work out!"

Poor Tate, who is super senitmental, came home and immediately put together all of Seekas things kind of as a shrine to her! =( He then started crying and said "Oh no...this is partly my fault!" when we asked him why he would think that he said "b.c I yelled at her sometimes!"
oh no baby...it is not your fault AT ALL!!!!!
He finally believed us.

When we got home we told them that they all could sleep on our floor...which helped. And then we got some ice cream, which also helped. We finally ended the night by thinking of names for the new puppy, which really seemed to help.

whew....I can't even imagine how you being to tell a child when a person they love is gone!! =(
